Hi I'm Lydia

I am from American Samoa. I graduated from BYU-Hawaii in Pacific Island Studies. I will be serving a mission in Sydney Australia.

About Me

Talofa! I come from a big Polynesian family and there is nothing more I love than spending time with them. I also love to dance. Polynesian dancing has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I enjoy playing the piano, especially church hymns. I love the ocean, hiking and anything outdoors. I recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Pacific Island Studies. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission to the people of Australia.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church and have always been active. It was not until a few years ago when I was living on my own that I was finally able to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. During the times when I have strayed from my beliefs is when I have been the most unhappy. I choose to follow my Savior and His gospel because it makes me happy and it also makes sense. I don't know where I would be without this gospel and the knowledge and joy it brings to my life. I have seen the other side, I have taken the harder roads, and thankfully with our loving Savior's atonement, I have been able to stand tall again and partake of the happiness this gospel brings. I know it to be true and there is no other way I would rather live.

How I live my faith

In my home ward, I have the privilege of being our ward pianist. Many times I have taken my talent for granted, but I know that music has brought me closer to our Savior. I have also been able to work with the children in our congregation as the chorister. I try my hardest to live an exemplary life.
