Hi I'm Taylor Westbrook

Born and raised in Bountiful Utah, I serve in Cusco Perú, I love Rugby, and I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Bountiful UT. I am the youngest of 6 kids, however, 4 of my siblings are only my half siblings. 2 from each of my parents in previous marriages. My parents were never married and are not together but they have a healthy friendship that makes things easier for all of us. In high school I played football and rugby. Rugby is a huge passion of mine, it has given me an outlet for all of my stress and any anger, I have built amazing friendships and connected with players and coaches from around the world. I now serve as a full time missionary in the Perú Cusco mission. Serving the Lord in this way has brought so many blessings into my life, and has really shaped me as a person, and the way I act upon my faith in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the faith. All I have known is the Mormon church. However, it took a long time for me to find the truth. Just before my senior year in high school me and the youth in my ward went on a trip to go river rafting down the Snake river. It was a trip full of both fun and danger. As me and the others in my raft crashed into a rock wall, one girl struck her head on the rocks, we lost our paddles and raft. And we were all dragged down stream and struggled to get out of the white water rapids. Despite this, everyone was okay in the end. I don't know what it was, maybe the need to work together in those moments, the feeling of love knowing everyone was ok, whatever it was something about that trip changed me. I suddenly looked forward to attending church meetings. The scriptures had a new meaning to me. And my testimony has grown each and everyday since then. I am so grateful for this gospel. I know this church is true. It was restored through Joseph Smith, so that we can repent of our sins, and come unto Christ. I have seen people come from the lowest of lows, saved and eternally changed for the better. I know President Monson is a man of God, and that through him Heavenly Father guides his church in these latter days. I am so grateful for these truths, I am grateful for the blessing of repentance, and the change it causes inside of us. I know that anyone struggling with trials or temptations, can turn to our loving Father who is waiting with open arms for us to return to him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a doer, not just a hearer. I try my best to ponder the words of the Savior, think about how His teachings apply in my life, and what I can do to be more like Him. I live my faith as a missionary, teaching people how they can come to Christ, and change, and leave bad habits behind, become better people, and feel the love of God in their lives. That is how I live my faith.

What is faith?

Taylor Westbrook
Faith means we trust in what we do not see. Faith to means being a believer in hard times, not just in easy times. Faith is the feeling that motivates us to stop doing what is wrong, to follow the Savior, and become more like him. Faith in short, is to put complete trust in God, knowing that what we receive in return is much more valuable than what we left behind. Show more Show less
