Hi I'm McKay

I am an American that lives in Germany. I will serve a mission in Peru. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church my whole life. I like sports. I like to learn. I like to be social. I love my family. I love my friends. But most of all, I love the gospel. In my current stage of life, I just graduated from high school and I am preparing to serve a mission in Peru. Afterwards I will attend BYU Provo.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church. I was fortunate enough to grow up learning about the principles and truths taught in the Church. It wasn't until high school that I started going through challenges and trials that made me question my devotion and testimony. I went to a church camp one year and bore my testimony in front of a group of kids. The Holy Ghost shared the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ had for me very strongly. That was the foundation of my testimony. My senior year of high school was a continuous effort to improve as I started to seriously prepare for my church mission. It wasn't until very recently that I started to make serious changes in my conduct to sharpen and refine who I was. I still am improving and I am still building my testimony. However, I do know that this Church is true. This is Christ's church on the Earth today. He loves us. Heavenly Father and Jesus watch over us each and every day. They do not only watch; they influence and affect our lives in ways that sometimes elude us. I know we can become clean through the Atonement. Christ's hand is continuously stretched toward us. I know happiness comes through living obediently. I know Our Father has a plan for us and that we can make it back to Him someday. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that each of us can know of its truth as we seriously ponder and study its words.

How I live my faith

Right now, my only calling is to hometeach with my dad. Sometimes I help play the organ and piano in our Church meetings. I go to my Sunday school classes and also strive help the older group of boys to learn and grow through my example and my testimony. I bag groceries at a grocery store in my community and strive to have Christlike attributes with my coworkers and the people I interact with on a daily basis. I also try to share the gospel as much as I can throughout the day. In short, I try to be a light wherever I am, for whoever notices.
