Hi I'm Travis Hanson

I am a Mormon. I grew up in Utah. I have been called to the Micronesia Guam Mission. The Gospel is TRUE!!!

About Me

I started varsity soccer in high school and have played soccer since I was very young. I also have built my own guitar and play guitar regularly. I love going to temples and making people laugh. I can't wait to serve the people in Micronesia!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in Utah and living in a LDS family I grew up always saying that I believed in Jesus Christ and testifying to others that He was real. It wasn't until I started to prepare for my mission that I really wanted to know if the life I had been living for 18 years was true. I decided that I would take the advice and the methods that missionaries teach investigators, or those wanting to know more about the church, to do. I read The Book of Mormon from cover to cover, something that seemed like it took forever but after I finished I wanted to read it again. After reading it I said the most humble and honest prayer that I've ever said in my 18 years of saying prayers. As soon as I was done I was expecting an answer. However, my answer didn't come right away, I had patience and three days later my life changed. It was after my family had watched a movie together and as I was walking up to my room I felt a warm, almost burning sensation in my chest something that I could not deny was the Holy Ghost. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this church was the true church on the Earth today. I knew that God had rewarded my humility and was pondering with this great testimony that this church is true. It may not be the biggest or strongest testimony, but it's my testimony, it's what I know is true and it shapes who I am. There have been experiences in my life that have been laying the foundation for that moment and at that moment everything seemed to fall into place. I knew what this life is for and I knew that I would devote everything I could to returning to our Father in Heaven and hopefully hear the words, "Well done my good and faithful servant".

How I live my faith

In my area I often help out with service projects and clean up crews around my neighborhood. I've always thought that you can tell a lot about someone by their work ethic so I always try to show I can work and work hard. I organized and ran a blood drive for my Eagle project and enjoyed being able to literally save lives. I think the biggest way I try to show my faith is by living a good life and helping others. I may not always have the opportunity to help carry groceries in or help the elderly but I found that you can always make someone laugh and make their day better. A smile a day keeps evil away!
