Hi I'm Tory

I'm a college student and a missionary who loves to be active and to bake and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from the beautiful Boone, North Carolina. Growing up in the Appalachian mountains allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for the beautiful Earth our Savior has created. I am a student at North Carolina State University where I plan to major in Chemical Engineering. After many years of preparation, I was called to serve as a missionary in the Idaho Boise mission speaking Spanish and am very excited to share this gospel with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very fortunate to have been born in the church. My parents have taught me to read the scriptures and pray. The past few years, I have began to deeply study the scriptures on my own and focused on having meaningful prayers. The more I have put in an effort to know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, the more joy I receive. I have learned to rely on the Holy Ghost. With the Holy Ghost, I have been guided on making the best decisions and how to improve. This has greatly increased my knowledge and made me a much better person. The immense joy I receive from the gospel is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The gospel fills my life with joy. Because my life has been so blessed, I want to share that happiness with others. I try to be an example and share what I know with those around me. I also look for small and simple ways to serve others and lighten their burdens. Being a student in an engineering college allows me to study the awe inspiring Earth and the intelligence that He has blessed us with. I am excited to see what opportunities this will unlock. I really enjoy attending a weekly Institute class that studies the Book of Mormon. It allows for me to feel the Holy Spirit and be open to guidance from our Heavenly Father. This has helped me to prepare to be a full time missionary teaching about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am very humbled to be able to dedicate 18 months to serving our Heavenly Father and teaching those who are interested.
