Hi I'm Morgan

I was born in Texas, but raised all over the U.S. I love art and sign language, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, though I haven't decided a major just yet. I am about to leave to serve a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon church). I love old movies and art museums, as well as reading (I'm currently on a Russian literature binge- I just finished Anna Karenina and I'm about to start Dr. Zhivago). I come from a family of seven children, where I am the second oldest. I play the flute and I love Maroon 5 and Pentatonix. I am Hard of Hearing and sign as well as speak.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my parents are both Mormon and I was raised in the church, it was a deeply personal decision to stay in the church. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know that the gospel was true, and I feel a personal conviction that it is. I feel a deep peace from the gospel that I have never found elsewhere, and I feel that the principles in the gospel lead me in a good direction.

How I live my faith

I try to be the best person I can be; I try to be a good friend by genuinely listening to and supporting my friends in their endeavors, as well as serving as a hospice volunteer. I don't drink or swear and I dress modestly. I genuinely believe in the principles that I live, and living them has brought great joy to my life.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Morgan
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is what enables us to return to heaven one day- no unclean thing can enter heaven, which means that we would all be lost if there was no way for us to repent of our sins. In order for mankind to be saved, someone needed to come to earth and live a perfect life, and then suffer the pains and afflictions of the rest of humanity so that they, too, may return to heaven one day. This person was Jesus Christ. Even though we are not perfect, if we obey the commandments as best we can and we commit to following Christ and His teachings, we can be saved from our sins and be exalted. Show more Show less
