Hi I'm Payden

I live in Arizona. I love music and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and I have just graduated high school. I love music, sports, literature, movies, basically everything. I play the cello, and am a self taught guitarist. Listening to, playing, and writing music takes up about 50% of my everyday life. I plan on going to college to be an engineer when I return from my mission to Peru in two years.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are strong members of the church so I grew up in a household where I was taught the principles of the gospel. Since the church was all I had ever known since I was born, I just accepted everything I was taught as truth because of the trust I had in my parents and the testimonies they have. It wasn't until I was about 16 that I really gave thought to any doubts and questions I had about the LDS church. I began to stray from the teachings of the gospel and decided to search for my own answers and reasons for being a member. These doubts, in the end, strengthened my own testimony beyond what I thought possible. As I strayed, I learned just how much living the gospel was doing for me and how happy I used to be when I was living how God wants me to. I know that the gospel is perfect and that Gods plan of salvation is perfect. We are here on this earth to be tested and to learn through agency, the ability to make choices. I know that through the gospel, I can know exactly what I should do in this life in order to return to Heavenly Fathers presence and to become like Him someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what is asked of me. I know that whatever the Prophet or my leaders ask me to do is what God wants of me. So there is no other place I'd rather be than in church every Sunday, at the temple, doing service, or on a full time mission. Heavenly Father has called me to serve the people of Peru for a period of 24 months. I never thought I would be so eager to leave my family, friends, music, and school to live in a country I know nothing about. I'm so excited to give Him my talents, my mind, efforts, all of myself to help in the gathering of His flock.
