Hi I'm Bekah

I love to sing, I love to draw, I love to write! I'm a student and web developer. My name is Rebekah Mendicino, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Midvale, UT and moved three times until we settled down when I was 7. I have two older sisters and a genius younger brother. I love education, and have tried my best to learn as much as I can. I'm currently attending Brigham Young University and majoring in Computer Science. I love to draw and I love to write. My favorite genres are fantasy/sci-fi and mystery. I love comics and cartoons, and I love love love music! I like to sing, and I wish I could play instruments. I'm a major gamer: I play everything from tabletop to board to video games. I'm a martial artist and I love cats! I work as a web developer, but currently I am serving as a missionary for the Church. I know the Church is true with all my heart, and I'm so grateful for the chance I have to share it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church by a pioneer mother and convert father. I feel so blessed to have such a rich heritage of faith on both sides; the diligence of those who organized the church on the one side, and the example of a single man's quest for truth on the other. Through the example of my parents, I was able to see how the Gospel truly does bless individuals and families. Naturally, as I aged, I was curious as to why. I can't say I ever had a "lightbulb" moment when I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the true church...but for me, I didn't need one. Over the course of my life, I've been able to feel the Holy Ghost testify to me that it is true. By reading the Boom of Mormon, by praying daily, and by attending church and keeping the commandments, I have felt a warmth in my heart grow as I've learned little by little what God intends for me and the rest of His children. Now I know. I can truly say that I've learned for myself, not because I was raised, that God Lives. My Savior loves me. He loves each one of us personally and intimately. Learn of Him. That is my prayer, in Jesus' name. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to share my faith in my example. I want to live the best, most Christlike life I can so others will be able to see that the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just a title or another religion, but it is a lifestyle that has blessed my life for the better. I believe that this life was meant to be spent in joy, no matter the situation. One of the ways I have chosen to spread this joy is by becoming a Missionary. As a Sister Missionary, I have the opportunity to devote a year and a half of my life to serving the Lord. I wake up every morning at 6:30 and go to bed at 10:30. I study in the scriptures for at least two hours, and for the rest of the day, I meet people who want to hear about Jesus Christ. It's a really neat experience to spend every day bearing testimony and seeing how the Gospel can transform people's lives for the better!
