Hi I'm Doug

I'm a lifetime member of the LDS church. I'm a retired Aerospace engineer. I enjoy biking, hiking and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, a father of seven sons with fifteen beautiful grandchildren. My wife and I have been married for almost 43 years. I have served in the Boy Scout/ Young Men’s program while my sons were growing up and participated in many enjoyable camps/ activities with them. I had the great opportunity to grow up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My wife and I are involved in many of the service opportunities made available by being a Mormon. We are going on a mission to New York Rochester this fall.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church my entire life however, I did not serve a full time mission when I was 19 because I was not active in attending the church. When I met my future wife she began to take the missionary discussions, which rekindled my beliefs in the truthfulness of the church. I later baptized my future wife and we were married in the Mesa Arizona temple. Our marriage has been richly blessed by following the precepts and teachings of the church, it gives me direction and focus. I have received spiritual affirmation time and time again of the truthfulness of the Gospel message. I have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because of the church I have faith and a hope that I can be together with my family forever. It teaches me of the central role of Jesus Christ in my life. I love the Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that following His teachings and keeping the commandments will allow our family to return to live with Him. My wife and I were married in the Temple because it is a place where families can be united for eternity. My wife and I are closer as we strive to live the Lords commandments and serve others.

How I live my faith

I am trying to focus my life to be more like the Savior Jesus Christ. I live my faith by loving and caring for my family, serving others in and out of the church, following the prophet and striving to bring others unto Christ. I work hard to let the light of Christ shine through me. I'm a Cub Scout leader for 10 year olds. I love my boys and look forward to each time we meet. How wonderful to serve God by serving his children. I love missionary work and look forward to the opportunity to serve, with my wife, in the New York Rochester mission. I live my faith by being faithful to the covenants I have made with Heavenly Father. I strive daily to observe and keep the commandments.
