Hi I'm Katie Lorrigan

I grew up in Utah, I'm a self published author, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 18 (almost 19) years old with a love of books. Fantasy, specifically. In Middle School, I decided to try my hand at writing a novel, and am now finishing my second book of a new series! I'm going to be attending USU for school after serving an 18 month LDS mission in Texas. I love my friends and am deeply loyal. I do what I can to make others happy :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's right. It's true. It's the only thing that makes sense. But beyond that, it gives me peace and joy. I can feel my Heavenly Father's (God- he is the father of our spirits, so that is generally how we address him) love for me and for everyone. Life... makes sense. It's not confusing. I know where I'm going, I know where I've been, and I know the point behind where I am now. I'm at peace... and I'm never alone. When I had depression, I felt completely alone, but God pulled me out of it, and I realize now that I am never ever alone. I just need to reach out to him, and he's there. EVERY TIME. I can also feel of my own worth as a Daughter of a King. Basically, life would be much harder if I didn't have the Gospel. Not that it's easy now, but it's easier to see the point behind my trials and be able to overcome them.

How I live my faith

I attend my weekly church meetings, and I used to attend the youth group activities every Tuesday (I'm too old for that now, unfortunately) and am now preparing to serve a mission!

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Katie Lorrigan
We do not worship Joseph Smith. We respect and reverence him as a Prophet of the Lord and an instrument in his hands. He was chosen to restore the Gospel to the earth, and he is the head of a new dispensation of times. This has happened many times- with Adam, Noah, Abraham, and other prophets. We esteem Joseph Smith as the newest of this line of prophets to restore the true gospel to the earth and the translator of the Book of Mormon. We do not, however, worship him. We worship Heavenly Father (God), and Jesus Christ (his son). Show more Show less
