Hi I'm Joshua Wilson

I was born in Gunma Prefecture in Japan. I've lived in various places around the world. I love sports, my family and the gospel.

About Me

I have grown up all over the world! I was born in Kiryu, Japan and moved to a tropical island called Saipan for a little bit. Then I moved to the states and lived in Florida and Pennsylvania for a little bit, until I moved back to Japan to live in Tokyo. I lived in Tokyo with my family for 6-7 years until moving to a small town named town named Laramie in Wyoming. To go from the largest city in the world, to a small town of 30 thousand was quite a move. Then this past year because my younger brother contracting a rare cancer called Ewing Sarcoma, so we moved to Hudson, Ohio. I love playing sports! I played varsity basketball, baseball and ran track throughout high school! I am a middle child, I have an older sister and 2 younger brothers. My youngest brother, James is the equivalent to a piano prodigy and has played at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and the Kaufman Center. My older sister has a child, who is 1 years old, and right now I am a very young uncle! I was originally planning on going to the University of Utah for my freshman year but I changed my mind and am going on a LDS mission to Busan, Korea! I am super excited for everything to come! I enjoy reading, writing, literally anything seems to excite me and I enjoy it all. I am fluent in English, Japanese and Spanish, and will be learning Korean for my mission! I love many people and am very friendly although people think I'm tall. But overall, I literally love everything and I would love to meet you!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church with great parents and such an amazing family. I got baptized when I was 8 years old and grew up in the church. However, unlike having a huge conversion story, I did not have that. I was diligent and read my scriptures and all of that. But since I was a kid I knew the church was true and had started developing a firm testimony since I was just a kid. We did scripture study, went to church and had a great family who is strong in the church! I really had a desire to learn and to want to know if the church was true around when I was 14 and I knew it was true after I had read the Book of Mormon, although I never really had any doubts. I love this gospel and stay with it because I know it's true!!

How I live my faith

Although the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints may seem a little weird to you, it is full of wonder and amazing things! I participate in all sports and enjoy coaching little kids. I have coached smaller kids on sports for the past 4 years before committing to go on my mission. I do a whole lot of community service with other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Many friends and I do service for other people not because we seek recognition, but we do it to help other people and make their lives easier. One of my favorite service activities was going as singing carols during the Christmas at a retirement home, or going and doing lawn work for people that are unable to. I absolutely love going to church and being with amazing people and learning about Christ and his gospel. I am able to envelope myself in all sorts of knowledge and to be surrounded with superb friends that will help me keep my standards high. I love the influence the Church gives and I'm able to see how many blessings come from simply going to church. I live my faith by doing the simple things, such as reading my scriptures, attending church activities and having a blast with all my friends. I love this gospel so much and I hope you look into it and see how amazing the people and the gospel is!
