Hi I'm Lance Bunch

I grew up in Colorado, and am serving in the Canada, Calgary mission!

About Me

I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I am the 4th kid out of 5. I love my family tremendously and don't know where I would be without them. I grew up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I guess my biggest interests are my family and loving other people. Some days I am better at that than other days. I mean don't get me wrong I enjoy movies, video games, hiking, boating, jet skiing, and snow boarding. Technology is very interesting and I will be going to college to study Computer science and Electrical engineering. I am not that smart, but have a determination to be the best son, brother, hopefully husband, and father that I can be. I know one of the greatest ways to achieve that is being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I will answer this question with a question: why not be a Mormon? The doctrine is clear, the promises rewarding, the hope energizing, the love is genuine. It has been one of the greatest blessings being a Mormon. Growing up Mormon I never really understood why I had to go to church every Sunday for 3 hours, but now I know it is because my parents love me, and want me to feel the happiness and receive the blessings that this Gospel has to bring in our lives. Everything is for our benefit. There is nothing that makes me feel like I am receiving less than I am giving. In fact it is quite the opposite, I feel as though I am receiving far more than I am giving. No matter how much I try to give more than I can receive, I receive more. I know it is because Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to be happy and have peace. He knows the only way I can receive that is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So I trust Him and go forward with Faith in following His counsel.

How I live my faith

Living my Faith has been something that has changed over the course of time. At first it started with a willingness to serve. I would go and do things when people asked me to but it stopped there. I sought only my own gratification. I have learned a great deal about serving willingly. Instead of waiting for people to tell me what to do I now seek for ways to help other people. I'm not trying to be Mr. "oh look at me I am such a good guy," but I am trying to express the what and why of service. Helping people is probably the best way to describe how I live my faith. If it wasn't for the Savior helping me then I would be lost. Then I think of all of the other people in my life who have helped me with challenges. Service and Charity and love is what this is all about. That is how you get closer to the Savior. That is how you can receive the most happiness. Right now I am a missionary. I get to go and teach other people about this glorious message. I also have many opportunities to go help people. Things like serving at the food bank and building playgrounds and helping move people into new homes. It is pretty fun honestly.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Lance Bunch
The Book of Mormon was written by several ancient Prophets, and abridged by the Prophet Mormon, until it was passed on to his son Moroni, who finished the abridgment and added his own testimony. The crowning moment of The Book of Mormon is when Jesus Christ comes down to visit the ancient inhabitants of the Americas after He was crucified. The Book of Mormon testifies of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. It is another witness of Jesus Christ and is used in harmony with the Holy Bible to understand the fullness of the Gospel. I know this book to be the word of God, but don't take my word for it, go get yourself a copy of The Book of Mormon, read it, and follow the council given in Moroni 10:3-5 to find for yourself the truthfulness of this scripture!
