Hi I'm Wendy

I am a Mormon and have been from birth. I was born in Alberta, Canada but grew up in SLC UT. I am a mother and grandmother.

About Me

I am a mother and a grandmother. I was very fortunate and was able to stay home and raise my children. I had 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. I have 24 grandchildren, 13 granddaughters and 11 grandsons. I love helping out with my grandchildren. I love to sew, read, and doing crafts. I love the beach and the mountains and love traveling all over the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. But I would say that I was converted when I was 17. My father had suddenly died at age 54 when I was 13 years old. That was hard on the family. While I was attending Seminary my senior year I began questioning the church. I started to go with different friends to their churches. They were all nice and taught many similar principles but none really seemed to click or offer the wonderful blessings of the Mormon church. After a very frustrating class of Seminary one day I visited my teacher after class. He told me I really needed to read the Book of Mormon but also I needed to live the gospel the best that I could and my testimony would grow. He also said to think about all the church offers Gods children, and wouldn't I be sad if I didn't stay active in the church and when I died I found out it was all true and I was left out of all those blessings! I did do exactly what he said and my testimony has grown constantly over the years. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, modern day prophets, tithing, fasting and prayer, genealogy, serving others, the Temple and the covenants we make there. I know that this is the only true church of Jesus Christ on the earth at this time. We carry the name of Jesus Christ and we are guided and directed by him through living prophets today.

How I live my faith

I love serving others and have served in many capacities in the community and church. While my kids were growing up I volunteered in the elementary school in their different classes as room mother and helper, teaching reading and math. I also started an art and music program and taught that for many years even after my last child was out of elementary school. I was also very active in the PTA. In the church I have spent many years working and teaching the young women ages 12 -18..I served for 30 years in the young women camp program. I loved seeing the testimonies grow from the challenges the young women faced in their camping experiences. My husband and I are getting ready to serve another mission together. We served in Argentina and this time we will be going to Mexico. We love sharing the gospel and helping others learn about the gospel.
