Hi I'm Alan

Hi, I grew up in Oregon. I am a 20 year Navy retiree. My wife and I are leaving on our mission soon. . I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired from the transportation industry and 20 years of military service. I love to golf and travel a bit around our Beautiful country. I have a beautiful wife and 5 children as well as 9 grandchildren. We are leaving on a mission for our church soon and are so excited. We will be serving in Georgia and assigned to Fort Stewart as military relations missionaries.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life and as such have not needed to find the church. However, being converted to the church is a process that needs to happen to everyone. The spirit converts and that spirit has touched me so many times that I cannot deny the truthfulness of this Gospel. I have faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior. My faith also sustains me in the truthfulness of The Book of Mormon. We do have a living prophet on the earth today who loves us and wants the best for us. My faith and the spirit assures me that Joseph Smith did see the Father and his son Jesus Christ and was the instrument in restoring the true Gospel to the earth. Many blessings await those who embrace this Gospel and life by its precepts.

How I live my faith

I serve and have served in various teachings and callings in our Ward (church). Some of them have been as a hometeacher to families in our Ward. Also as an assistant or counselor to the main leader of our Ward who has the calling of Bishop. Teaching youth in the Boy Scouts as well as in a spiritual setting has been a calling as well.
