Hi I'm Matthew

I am a high school graduate. I am a cook. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission to Nashville, Tennessee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up mostly in Idaho & Utah, but for my Junior and Senior years in High School, my family moved to Washington State. I love the people on the island that we live on and have many great friends here. (Most of whom are not Mormons, but we respect each other and are able to enjoy and appreciate our similarities.) I loved playing football & basketball in high school. I love working as a cook at a local restaurant, but that is not my planned future vocation in life. I am planning on working in the medical field as a physician, focusing on Orthopedic or Radiology. I am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission and have been assigned to the Nashville, Tennessee area.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I love it. I love the peace and joy that living up to the standards that God placed for us to live by. Is it easy? Not always. I'm not perfect, but the beauty of Christ's Atonement, of his sacrifice for us, is that we can repent, be cleansed, and try again. And as long as we try our best and don't give up He won't give up on us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by doing my best to be a good example to those around me. I love to help and serve people. I attend church on Sundays. I love to answer any of my non-Mormon friends' questions about the gospel. Most importantly, there is so much joy and happiness when we are following our Savior's example! The fundamentals of living the gospel start with regular church attendance, daily prayer, and scripture study. I find the better I am at these things the closer I am to our Heavenly Father and the stronger my faith becomes in our Savior. When we have a strong belief in and love for our Savior, all other things fall into place. There is certainly no other way than through Jesus Christ.
