Hi I'm Erland H Lindgren

I'm born in Gothenburg,Sweden and have graduated in 7 professions. Now I'm retired. 1984 I got a Mormon.

About Me

Had an awful hard childhood with serious abuse by both my parents already from my very first year of living. During my first 4 years of my earthly life,I was at hospital 3 times with serious injuries with consequenses for the rest of my life. Dispite that, our great Lord has given me a fantastic positive outlook on life and a very good sense of humour, together with incredibly easy to learn. It was necessary for me for my survival. Of course that kind of upbringing has affected the relationships toother people, especially adults. However I did decide very early in my life to do the very best to get success in life and put my focus at positive thoughts and things. I love fishing, hunting and nature in general (have been a scout leader for 15 years). Dancing, reading, build computers, writing and collecting stamps are some other interests.

Why I am a Mormon

It's very interesting how i got in touch with our Church, I who thought I was a stubborn atheist. But it was very easy - I got an atheist because of the bad behaviors by people who called them self Christians, so at the age of 25 I decided that everyone who called themself a Christian they were all hippocrates. Then one day I met a person who did ACT as I thought a Christian person should act. That example and that persons personal testimony gave ME a deep and living testimony that has last för so many years now. I did ask in an honest, humble prayer and with a sincere heart about both if Joseph Smith J:r had had that se use tocall "the first vision" and if the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true. The answer I got was a spiritual overwhelming manifestation that gave NO space of hesitating. After that experience I asked to get baptized and got teached the basic gospel priciples by the Missionairies. In about 2 weeks I was baptized and that has changed my life for ever. NO ONE ELSE than Jesus Christ CAN never ever make a person with my background as healed as I've got. People who have not known me from my childhood can barely believe my bad experiences before I show them the copies of my hospital journals. The Lord has made a great manifestation with me. The more I try to live the Gospel, the more my testimony of this true Church of Jesus Christ grows stronger. I'm so happy for my firm testimony. I hope I will be able to remain a member of this tru Church and endure to the end.

How I live my faith

I really love to serve in the Church and try to LIVE the Gospel every day. The Temple is "my second home" so naturally I even love genealogy. As often as possible, my beloved Wife and I invite the Missionairies for som lunch or/and use our home for teaching people who are investigating our Church. Of course I always work for to magnify my Church callings, especially as a Home - teacher, and treat people I meet every day the way I want them to treat me. Have been organizing both scout camps and Family activities where even non members has been velcome toprticipate. The Lord want each one of His children to grow as much as possible, therefor I do study the scriptures every day, both together with my beloved Wife and alone. For me it's also a natural thing to participate on every meeting and activity in Church. Even listening to every talk at General/Stake/Ward conferences. Helping people in need, or just because you love them is also funny and gives great joy. Paying tithing gives me both a strong feeling of trust and great joy. I cannot afford to not pay tithing. When I decided to stop smoking and drink coffe, thé and alcohol (I had been smoking every day since I was only 7 years old and a wine connoisseur in adult age) immediately as I understood WHY Mormons doesn't use that kind of stuff, I recieved so great blessings that has remained for the rest of my entire life - NO anstinence troubles at all from that very moment (12 days beforemy baptism) and it's stillon that way aftermorethan 30 years membeship. Before that day I had strong abstinence troubles after only an hour whithout especially coffe. I was never addict of alcohol, so that I did not see as a problem to avoid, but it was hard to think of living without vintage wines, but I NEVER hesitated to let even the wine go. Therefor I've been so blessed beyond measure.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
