Hi I'm Rachel Amelia Mecham

I grew up in Washington state, I studied at BYU, and now I'm a missionary in the Mesa, Arizona temple visitors center!

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. My dad just retired from the military and was gone a lot when I was growing up, so I was the second parent. Two brothers and two sisters is the perfect amount! I miss them a lot at college out-of-state but it makes Christma and Thanksgiving even more meaningful. I played soccer in high school as well as did drama, student leadership, and music. Now I'm in the BYU Women's Chorus, one of the top Women's Choris in the nation! I plan to join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Someday.

Why I am a Mormon

Some people find happiness in desserts or running, reading, ect. But I find happiness in the gospel. 2 Nephi 2:25 says "Men are that they might have joy." I believe true happiness is most easily found in the gospel. I know if you feel something is missing or need happiness in your life, you can find it in the gospel too.

How I live my faith

Have you ever seen someone in a car dancing to the radio, and think, "wow they look weird." But it's because without hearing the music it is just random movements. I may look "peculiar" to the rest of the world, but it is because I hear the music of the spirit, of the gospel of Christ. My outward actions are extensions of my inner faith, and to me it is a beautiful dance. I invite you to listen for the music of the spirit by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true.
