Hi I'm Trishia

Hi, I am Trishia and I am LDS (Mormon).

About Me

I am 23 years old and I come from Northern California. I have lived in Germany, California, Ohio, Idaho, Colorado, and I currently live in Utah. I have traveled to several European Countries and all over the United States. I speak German and Spanish and I love to be outdoors. I am a mother of a 2 year old with one on the way after battling infertility for a while. At the moment I am a Senior in college studying Marriage and Family Psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had many struggles in my life. Some I can talk about others I never mention, all of them hurt and made it hard to know who I was or love myself. My parents were LDS when they married, but fell away not long after. They were divorced and I left to live with my mother. While living with her we would attend the LDS church every once in a while (a couple time a year.) I always felt loved there. When my mother passed, I moved to live with my father. While going to school, I met a young girl named Mary. She asked my where I went to church and I told her "I think the LDS church, but I am not sure." I started to attend with her, and I felt wanted and loved. It wasn't the members that gave those feelings, but something else. After taking the missionary lessons twice, I joined the church. It took many years to become fully active, but when I went to college, I decided that I wanted Christ in my life. I prayed and prayed about what I should do, and I came to realize that I needed to follow His commandments. I started to prepare for a mission, but I never served since not one month after taking the mission prep classes, I met my future husband. I am LDS because I found Christ here. He has given me comfort through many hard times, and He has guided me when I was lost. I have felt Him in the Temple and in church meetings. He has held my hand through infertility appointments, deaths, sorrows, and pain. He has rejoiced with me when I was married, and had my first child. He loves me and all of His children. I am LDS because this is where Christ wants me to be and I owe Him everything. I am LDS because I am striving to be a Disciple of Christ.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Layton 38th ward and I am also a Bear Cub Scout Leader. At the moment I help boys earn awards and learn life skills that they can use throughout their lives. Recently we learned about cooking, camping, and tomorrow we will learn about Gardening and Composting. I love working with Children and I am excited to be able to meet with the boys each week and teach/learn new things. I also go visiting teaching with my next-door neighbor. We do not always make the best team, but we enjoy being able to help others. I love to volunteer for service projects and I try to do them as much as possible.
