Hi I'm Stephen

I am a convert of 40 years ago. I love Jesus Christ and what he did for me. I am preparing to serve a fulltime mission.

About Me

I am a grandfather. I have more interest than I have time. My favorite hobby is Family History. I love learning how my ancestors played a part in the history of the world. I have found ancestors that came over on the Mayflower, served along side of General George Washington, settled the Northwest Territory, took part in the War of the Stewarts, the Franco Prussian War, were part of the Norman invasion of England, fought in the Crusades, and many other historic events. I have worked with computers for almost 50 years (yes they have been around that long, but they are a lot smaller now than when I started working with them). I love nature and am an amateur photographer. I also do photo restorations to preserve the past.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Church and read the Bible often (4 times cover to cover before I was 16). I was very active in that Church. I struggled with my faith when I was a teenager because what I was being taught was different than what was in the Bible. During college I studied all world religions and found them very similar. I wanted to find out about my Loving Heavenly Father. After college missionaries from several churches came to my house. When the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came, I found that God of love. What they taught me, was the same as what I had read in the Bible.

How I live my faith

First of all I live my faith by following the teaching of Jesus Christ. "If you love me, obey my commandments." "Love one another." "If ye have do it unto the least of these thy brethren, ye have done it unto me." I try to serve all those that I come in contact with. My favorite callings have been serving in the House of the Lord, His Temples and second doing Home Teaching which is the visiting of people to see how they are doing and whether or not I can be of service to them in any way. I believe that the treasures that we lay up in Heaven are the family relationship and friendships that we develop here on Earth. I can think of no greater joy that being reunited with family and friends in the presence of Heavenly Father after we have left this life.
