Hi I'm Andre Henao

I grew up in Burbank, California I know Live in Santa Clarita. And now preparing to serve a mission in Trujillo, Peru

About Me

I grew up playing many sports. I am a tri-sport athlete i play Baseball, Football, and run track. I am now preparing myself to serve a full time mission in Trujillo, Peru. My family are the only members of are entire family. My dad found the gospel through the missionaries when he 28 years old and we have always stayed strong in the gospel since then. We were from a Catholic religion before i was baptized into there church when i was born but then baptized into our church when i was eight. I plan to be a sports agent when i come back from my mission and attend a school in Utah when i get back. I am also an Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church provides a youth camp over the summer that i was able to attend and my testimony of the church was really lacking at the time. My family was not going through the best times financially and i thought if we do everything right and live the gospel worthily why are we in this situation in the first place? I had to raise money to go to this camp on my own and it was a lot of work. A conflict came up raising that money and with the camp location i was supposed to go to and i totally did not care anymore i didn't want to go and i thought this wasn't the church for me since this is happening. Luckily my friend told me that it would be worth going to a different location even though i wouldn't be going with that friend so i went. That experience i will never forget i learned so much from that camp that i was able to gain my testimony back. I realized that God to love me and my family and i knew that everything back home would be back to be fine when i got back. I understood that my heavenly father was testing my faith and my family's faith with the trials that we were going through. The camp also made me gain a testimony of how important missionary work was and ever since then i've had my eyes on serving a mission when i got out of high school. When i got back it was only a couple weeks until my family was blessed to have sufficient for our needs again. I truly to believe Heavenly Father was looking over my family and me during a tough trial like this. I do believe that this is the true gospel of christ and without it i wouldn't know where i would be right now. This is why i'm a mormon

How I live my faith

I have served in my Deacons and Teachers youth presidency growing up and i have recently gotten released by my last calling as the second assistant in my priest youth presidency. I have organized and served in many events with the youth group from service projects to numerous outing events.
