Hi I'm Amanda

I live in Utah. I started a non-profit organization to raise money for the fire station in my town. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school. I've played the clarinet for 5 years and the piano for 10 years. I like to draw and take photographs. I am going for my black belt in Karate Shin-Toshi.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church so I have had religion growing up. I didn't truly become conversion until my oldest sister got married, but her husband wasn't ready to take her to the temple. I saw first hand how hard it was for her to not have the priesthood in her home. That day I really asked myself what I wanted in my life and my marriage and I decided there that I wanted to be married in the temple. I wanted to gain a strong testimony of what I was raised to believe, so I read the Book of Mormon again and I prayed to my Heavenly Father with a real intent just like Moroni advised in Moroni 10. I got an answer that the Book of Mormon was true, then I read about Joseph Smith and all he did and prayed about it, and got an answer that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and everything he did was to fulfill God's commandments. Then I prayed to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here on the Earth, and again I got an answer that it is the true church. Now that I know these things I know that I can continue to build upon my testimony, and if I continue to build up my testimony then I will get married in God's temple.

How I live my faith

I am inviting others to come to Christ by teaching them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No one is forced to serve a mission. The Lord has called all young men to serve a mission, but it is still their choice to go and will receive many blessings if they do serve a mission. All Mormons male and female should sincerely ponder and pray about serving missions. If they don't serve a full time missions, they can still be a missionary without leaving their home. This is by inviting others to hear about the gospel and to invite them to church or giving them a Book of Mormon. Then if they want to know more getting them lessons from the full time missions.
