Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in West Jordan, Utah. I'm serving an LDS mission in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Nathan and I am 18 years old and I am preparing to serve an LDS mission. Ever since I was little I have loved playing basketball and I have gotten pretty good. When I was a sophomore in high school I played on the school team but the next year I got cut and I was crushed. But I didn't give up and I decided that I was going to play for the team next year. I got to work right away. I played in 4 different recreational basketball leagues that winter. During the summer some friends and I went to the gym almost everyday to practice basketball. We would do shooting drills, dribbling drills, practice our defense, have competitions, we would lift weights, do sprints, and practice our vertical jump. When school started a friend and I went to the gym every morning at 5 o'clock before school and we would practice more. When tryouts came I played well and I made it to last cuts but ultimately I was cut. I was devastated. I worked so hard and I wanted it so bad. How could God do this to me? But then a scripture came to my mind it was Isaiah 55:8-9. I knew then that God had a plan for me just like he does for everyone and even when things don't go my way and trials are hard I know that it is part of God's plan for me and it will end up being experience for me and it will be for my good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I know this is the true and restored church on the Earth today. I know that this church brings joy and happiness to those who believe. I am a Mormon because this church has true and living prophet. I am a Mormon because I know that God has a plan for me as he does for everyone. I am a Mormon because I agree with the rules, standards, and morals of the church. I believe that they were put here by an all knowing and loving Heavenly Father who knows the trials of our time and knows what we need to stay away from. I am a Mormon because I want to be. Because it brings me joy and peace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading in the Book of Mormon everyday. I also enjoy listening to conference talks and watching church videos that inspire, motivate, and teach me. I live my faith by trying to serve others and looking for opportunities to serve. I attend all my church meetings every Sunday and worthily partake of the sacrament. I live my faith by attending the temple and preforming the ordinances that can be taken place there. I love talking with my friends about the gospel and learning from them and from their experiences. The biggest way I have lived my faith is by preparing to serve an LDS mission. I have learned so much from this and I am constantly feeling the spirit which reassures me that what I am doing is right.
