Hi I'm Tasi Lloyd

I'm an Idahoan. I'm a Soldier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Eastern Idaho and raised in Western Idaho. I was born to good parents. My father grew up in many places around the United States and my mother is from New Zealand. I am currently serving a mission in Taiwan speaking Mandarin Chinese. Before that, I spent two years at the United States Military Academy at West Point. I intend to return and graduate from there after I complete my mission. I am committed to serving my nation in the military. Really the only hobby I have is Chinese. I love the language and I love the people of both China and Taiwan. During my time at the academy I studied Chinese and the academy sent me to Beijing twice. It was during those times that I came to know of my love for the Chinese. While in Beijing I made some great lifelong friends and I came to the decision that wherever my life leads, whether in the Army or our, I want to be involved with China and Taiwan, even hopefully living there someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to faithful Mormon parents, yet my decision to be a Mormon is my own. From my youngest age I remember learning about the scripture stories from both my parents and in church. I remember personally, of myself, believing those things that were taught. As I grew older I came to know and understand even more; this Church truly is Christ's own church. As I have lived my life I have had many very very difficult experiences, just as we all do. As I have gone through those forging fires I have come to know even more Christ's love for me, and His plan for me to receive happiness. His plan for happiness is not just for me, but for every single one of our brothers and sisters, too. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I know that He as redeemed us all and has created the way for us to be able to return to our home with God our Father in Heaven. Christ loves us, Father loves us. Because they love us they ask us to live the way that they have taught us to live, because the reason for what they ask us to do is for our joy. I love the Savior. I know that I am not perfect, but I also know that Christ is so merciful that He has atoned for my sins and compensates for my shortcomings, and through His mercy I am allowed to continue to be His servant. Through His grace, I know that I, with my family, and everyone else with their families, can receive eternal joy.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a missionary. For two years I will dedicate my life to solely serving the Lord Jesus Christ. My daily activities involve studying the gospel, studying the language of Taiwan, teaching people the gospel, finding those who are open to learning more about the gospel, and giving service. As missionaries, we forsake all other aspects of our lives. Our communication with loved ones at home is strictly only once a week through email or letters. We refrain from listening to recreational music, watching TV or movies, computer usage, and other things of that nature. The only material we read is scriptures and other supporting gospel materials. We do not pursue romantic relationships. We live a strict schedule, always going to bed at 10:30pm and rising at 6:30am, studying during certain hours and proselyting during certain hours. We use only one day a week for recreational activities, housekeeping affairs, and other things of that sort. The purpose for our living in this way is to completely dedicate our time to the Lord. He loves all of His children, and we are all His children. I know that He wants me to share the joy that I have found in Him with others. After all He has given me and continues to give, I could never repay Him. Consecrating all my time and energy to Him for two years is a small task for what He gives me. His gospel is a gospel of happiness, and I want to help others find that happiness.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Tasi Lloyd
Throughout the existence of the world God the Eternal Father has called prophets who act as His spiritual leaders to His children on the earth. These prophets receive priesthood authority from God to act as He commands, to be His messenger to guide us to follow Him. At times, people reject the prophets and so God removes His authority and the earth loses guidance from prophets. But then, in time, God once again raises up a prophet so that we may once again have the priesthood authority and guidance from God on the earth. Joseph Smith once one of these prophets, raised up to restore God's church and the fullness of His gospel, and to restore the priesthood authority. Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. He was God's servant just as prophets of old; such as Peter, James, John, Moses, Abraham, and Adam. Show more Show less
