Hi I'm Emery

I grew up in Provo, Utah until I got married and moved to Salt Lake City.

About Me

I love sports and played football in High School and Basketball at a Junior College. I also played soccer for many years on club team in college and a Church sponsored team for about seven years. I graduated from college at with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. After college, I went to work for about seven and half years with an international "Big 8" CPA firm. I left the large firm and taught Accounting classes for almost three years at a university while setting up my own CPA business. I have been self employed since that time. It has been 37 years in a small CPA association. I love the outdoors and being involved in Boy Scouts for most of my adult life. I am a Silver Beaver. My family, children and grandchildren are the focus of life at this time for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a great heritage of Mormon ancestors who have set a wonderful example as Mormon pioneers. I have great support and example by my family of living a good life with Jesus Christ as our Savior and example of happiness. I love the Savior and His teachings and example. The Book of Mormon, as another testimony of Christ, and has helped me more fully understand the Gospel and the Plan of Salvation. I will continue to follow the Teachings of Christ as I serve others and as I study and pray about the Gospel. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and I have faith that His Gospel is truth and brings eternal happiness in this life the life to come.

How I live my faith

I have been active in my church for all of my life and have held many various callings including a missionary three different times. Most of my leadership assignments have been with youth and young adults. I love to teach. I have had many years of leadership in my church at various levels of responsibility. Currently I am a Sunday school teacher. I have been a coach for little league baseball, basketball, soccer and was president of a little league baseball association for over 5 years. I was a regular volunteer for a homeless charity for about 25 years. My wife and I will be going on another mission this fall.
