Hi I'm Judy Allred

I grew up in a large Air Force family, live in Utah with my husband and son, work in a children's hospital & love being a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, administrative assistant, football mom, University of Utah and Utah Jazz fan. But mostly I'm a daughter of my Heavenly Father and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a very strong testimony (belief) that this is Jesus Christ's church on the earth. It is the same church that existed when He lived on the earth, and it will be His church when He returns in the Second Coming. I feel the Spirit every day when I pray and study the scriptures and I feel guidance in living Heavenly Father's will. Christ is my advocate with the Father and I love them because they love me and have blessed me with so much. I feel loved and valued and comforted and I feel joy when I'm living the way my Heavenly Father wants me to live.

How I live my faith

I live by faith, trusting that Heavenly Father is in control of my life. I love my family, friends, my work, and my church activity. I'm so grateful for the knowledge the Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price have given me about the pre-existence, this mortal existence, and what is to come in the hereafter. I feel so blessed to have answers to so many questions about God, the purpose of life, and how to make the most of my time on earth. I love following the prophet's example because it is the very best way to find happiness in this life.

What is the First Vision?

Judy Allred
I believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in response to his prayer about which church to join. There is a similar story recorded in a journal by an ancestor of mine at about the same time. He was praying to know which church to join then an angel appeared and told him to not join any church at that time but to wait and in a few years some missionaries would come to teach him about the true church. During the years that he waited he prepared his family and neighbors so that when the Mormon missionaries arrived, most of them were baptized. I love this story because it reminds me that Heavenly Father is mindful of each of us and will answer our prayers according to his will. Show more Show less
