Hi I'm Micah

I am currently serving a Mission in Macon Georgia. I grew up in Ohio then Idaho. I love to do anything in the water. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old. I have grown up with 5 brothers (classic Mormon, right?). I have practically grown up in the water, I have done competitive swim for most of my life and have also done some water polo in college where I am studying psychology. I am also one of those people that absolutely loves to go to school and learn new things. I absolutely love to just hang out and chill with my friends and family. My favorite pastime is to cook with my dad and best of all, eat the food. With one of my younger brothers i play a lot of piano with him, we especially love doing jazz improv. I love to do almost anything outdoors, especially skiing, hiking, rafting, and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the church my entire life. I have not always believed though. I have had my on personal conversion to the church. I love it. The church is the way to true happiniess, it is the way to be with Heavenly Father forever. I am a Mormon because I know that it is true and that it is what God wants us to do to be with Him again. My conversion has been helped by many of my freinds that have been great example to me. I love everything that the Churh stands for. It is the right and the light.

How I live my faith

I have been in the churches youth program for the last 6 years. I have held various leadership positions in this program to help my peers. I have also participated in the many activities that the church has for the youth. I live my faith not only at church and church activities but in my everyday life. I find that it is in the little everyday things that reallys helps me to be the best person that I can.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Micah
The Atonement of Jesus Christ, I believe, is the Greatest gift given to everyone here on earth; It extends to everyone who wants to seek forgiveness of their sins. The Atonement is a way for us to become clean of our sins no matter what we do. When we are baptized that is the first step in the atonement, but none of us are perfect from the time that we are baptized and we will make mistakes, that is why we renew our baptismal covenants every week when we partake in the sacrament. The atonement was given to us by Jesus Christ when he died upon the cross. For the atonement to work we needed to have someone suffer and die for our sins, that is what Christ did for us. He never sinned and so he was a perfect man and was able to die and be resurrected for us, this made it possible for us to ask and receive forgiveness. Show more Show less
