Hi I'm Alisha

Hello, I'm Sister Coughran. I'm from Australia and currently serving a full-time mission in the Philippines Angeles mission.

About Me

I am the only girl in a family of four children. I love my parents and my brothers dearly. My favorite things to do are reading, singing and lots of crafty activities, my favorites being cross stitch and crochet. I love animals and have one cat named Tigger. Until recently I wanted to become a vet but am currently leaning towards becoming a primary school teacher. I was a peer tutor when I was in high school so I love helping others learn, particularly the younger generation. My religion is most precious to me and I love sharing my beliefs as much as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church all my life. I am a member because I love the way it makes me feel. It has given me so much strength to live in this world. I'm grateful for the standards that I have been taught. I know they are for my spiritual protection. I do know this church to be true. I know that Jesus Christ is at the center of our religion. I know God to be my Father. We are His children. I know He loves each and every one of us beyond our ability to comprehend and knows us better than anyone. God shows His love for us by calling prophets in our day. I know God is speaking to us today through these righteous men. I know that Joseph Smith was the first prophet called in our day and He brought forth the Book of Mormon through the power of God. It contains the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and it truly does testify of Him. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that it is through Him that we can be forgiven of our sins. He loves us all and I know that it is never too late for any of us. I have felt the power of the Atonement in my life and I know that it is available to all. I know that we have a living prophet on the Earth today, President Thomas S. Monson and I know that He has been called of God to guide us in our daily lives and help us draw nearer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that this gospel is for everyone, from all walks of life. It doesn't matter what current situation we find ourselves in, God loves us today and always.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith by being a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I chose to do so because I know with all my heart that this gospel is true. I know that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father and He has a plan for all of us. I know that it is only through this gospel that we can return to live with Him again, and that we will be given the strength to overcome all our trials. I always strive to strengthen my relationship with God through consistent prayer and scripture study. It has given me strength to keep myself away from things that would impact this relationship. I'm grateful for the righteous men and women who have taught me the gospel and for their examples. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without their wisdom and guidance.
