Hi I'm Lizzy

I'm a nerd. I love music and books and my family...and Lord of the Rings! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am pursuing a degree in music therapy. I love to sing and I do all the time...luckily my family and friends like show tunes! I'm the youngest of seven kids. I have three brothers and three sisters. I have 13 nieces and nephews. They are the cutest things in the world. (Especially since I don't have to change their diapers...) My Dad died when I was eight years old. He was an amazing man, and I am so lucky that I had him for as long as I did. I am so grateful that I will be able to see him again. My mother is amazing woman and I admire what wonderful of a mother she has been to me. I was in all the musicals and plays in high school and absolutely loved it! I love chocolate and potato chips way too much...I love old black and white romances and Ella Fitzgerald and Jane Austen.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up I was a Mormon because my family was. But one day my wonderful, wonderful father died. I turned to God because that was what I was taught to do, and I thought I should give it a shot. God answered my prayers with comfort and peace. He was with me through every step of my grieving process. I then began to turn to Him because I knew him and I trusted him. I knew that He was good and loved me. I started to really believe the things I was learning in church every week. I could be with my father again, because of Christ magnificent sacrifice. I learned that Christ can heal us from our pains and sorrow, as well as our sins. I believe that Christ's church was restored by revelation to the prophet Joseph Smith. I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I believe that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is led by God through modern prophets. I know God loves every one of us and wants us to receive the blessings of the gospel. I know that we can be happy because of the truths taught in this gospel. I love my Savior and Heavenly Father and know that they love me. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission for the LDS church in Calgary, Canada. I am excited to share the message of the gospel because it has brought such happiness to my life. I attend church once a week and I have served as our ward's music organizer lady. However, I think the most important way I choose to live my faith is by developing a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. When I am close to them, I choose to be more honest and kind and good. I start to love other people the way they do.
