Hi I'm Amaria

This gospel is the light in my life!

About Me

Dancing is my passion and I have danced my entire life. It is like an emotional outlet for me. I attended BYU for one semester. During that semester I worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for a Home Health and Hospice agency. I then deferred my education and began working full-time at the Utah State Hospital which has been great! I love seeing the variety of people and building relationships with my patients.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the Book of Mormon and all it teaches. It has helped guide me through many struggles that have come up. I am a Mormon because it gives me peace and comfort to know that the Lord is my advocate and has suffered for my sins so that I can be clean again. This Church brings so much happiness into my life and I cannot deny its teachings.

How I live my faith

I just graduated from Young Women where I participated by teaching lessons, leading opening exercises, and holding positions in the class presidency. I loved to participate in youth activities that were held every week because it allowed all the youth in my ward to create close friendships with others who shared the same beliefs.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Amaria
Mormons do not drink coffee, tea, or alcohol because these substances lead to addiction. Anytime the body is addicted to something, we are giving up part of our free agency. Our agency is one of the key elements of our life here on Earth, so we try to do all we can to keep our agency. The Word of Wisdom (found in Doctrines and Covenants 89:1-21) is a law to help us maintin and healthy body and mind. It is to protect our bodies from harmful substances. We believe in a healthy and proper diet that is very similar to the worlds version of a healthy diet such as limitnign red meats or getting adequate rest. Eliminating alcohol, tobacco, coffee, tea, and illegal drugs will help improve our minds and bodies, allowing us to function to our highest ability and continue progressing. Show more Show less
