Hi I'm Mitchell Rider

I grew up in a small town called Parma in Idaho. I'm serving in the Alaska Anchorage mission till Sept. 2017. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all my life. I left for my mission when I was 18 years old. I was called to the Alaska Anchorage Mission. I reported to the MTC on September 16, 2015. After my mission, I plan on attending BYUI in Rexburg Idaho. I love to read, eat, and joke. Camping is my go-to vacation choice, and the mountains are where I feel most "at home".

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents taught me the gospel at an early age and were able to show me by example all of the ways membership in this church can bless your life. I am a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost answer the prayer of my heart, which was to know if this church was truly restored through a latter day Prophet, and if the Book of Mormon is true. I am a Mormon because I have felt the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ work to clean me of my sins and imperfections every day. I am blessed every day because of my membership in the true church, and I am glad that God really does answer our prayers. My family and close friends are a few of the things that help keep me rooted to this gospel, but I know that the real anchor in my life is the gospel itself. I have felt it's truthfulness when I am on the Lord's errand and when I am obedient.

How I live my faith

Teaching people who are ready to receive the restored gospel is one of the best feeling ever. Being a missionary has blessed my life in countless ways and there's no place I'd rather serve than the Alaska Anchorage Mission. As missionaries, we like to jump at any opportunity to serve others. (Especially outside yard work)

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mitchell Rider
We proselyte because we feel that that's what the lord has commanded us to do. We know that spreading the restored truth is one of God's greatest desires and most important works, we also know that he wishes for us to help him in the work. Not because he needs the help, but because he wants us all to learn and grow from the experience we gain. It's one of the many ways he shows his love for us all. Show more Show less
