Hi I'm Kimi

I am a native Californian and nursing student who loves to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi friends! I come from a loving and supportive family and enjoy spending as much time with them as I can. I also love reading, serving, traveling cooking, learning and being in the beautiful outdoors. I like to try adventurous things too: I have my scuba diving license and have gone sky diving, zip lining, rock climbing, white water rafting and skiing just to name a few of my favorites. Because of my love for service, I began a program at Children's Hospital several years ago which makes tutus and superhero capes for the patients of the Oncology Unit. It has been incredibly rewarding to spend time with these resilient children and see their faces light up as they try on their new gifts. A few years ago I traded the beaches of Southern California for the mountains of Provo, Utah to study at Brigham Young University. I absolutely loved my first few semesters as a student here and am now a sophomore in their nursing program! I could not be more excited to learn the Healer's Art. Last year I decided to serve a mission and received an assignment to the middle of the Amazon rainforest. However, soon afterwards I got really sick and was even in a wheel chair for a few months. I had to delay serving for an additional semester, but now I am leaving in May to Sao Paulo Brazil and am so thrilled!

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me such joy and comfort! I know that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me and knows me by name. Heavenly Father created a plan for His children that will allow us to live with our families for eternity. The burdens created by my sorrows, trials and sins can be lifted through the atonement of my Savior. I have experienced my fair share of trials in my life, but have felt the constant love and support of Jesus Christ. He died for me, and more importantly He lives for me. The blessings that come from following Christ's teachings are truly immeasurable. He provides peace, strength, perspective and guidance.I have a testimony that His church has been restored upon the earth, and I am so grateful to be a member.

How I live my faith

Church is an integral part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. One of the ways I serve is by Visiting Teaching the other sisters in my ward. I cherish the companionship that visiting teaching fosters and do my best to make sure that those I visit feel loved and happy. I also decided to serve a mission and am moving to Southern Brazil in a few short months to teach others about my faith. I can hardly wait to meet the people of Sao Paulo and am so excited to serve the Lord in this new capacity! We have trials every day that test our strength and faith, but through sincere prayer and study I am able to live each day with gratitude for and a testimony in my Savior.
