Hi I'm Amber

I live in Hawaii. I like to read and write. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, majoring in Geology. I love math, science, and books. I play the harp and write stories (mostly fantasy, or fantasy pretending to be science fiction) I get lots of animals from the universe. People in my neighborhood bring me injured birds to take care of. I have a pet rabbit and a chicken. I like really bad puns and movie references. I'm quiet and shy in public, but I can get really silly around my family and close friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church so I was taught its principles from when I was very young. The things my parents taught me, and the things I learned in church, always just made sense to me. When we live in the way that the Lord wants us to, we are always blessed. It doesn't mean life is easy, because life is rarely easy, but when we're doing what God wants, He will help us through our challenges. I know that this church and its teachings are true. Its members are just as human as everyone else, and never stop making mistakes, but that doesn't make the church itself any less true. I will continue to live by the church's principles for the rest of my life, because I know that God loves me and that Christ lives and that they are happy when I seek for truth and strive to live by it.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly, and enjoy it. I'm currently preparing to be a missionary. I try to live in accordance with God's commandments. I read from the scriptures every day, and try to follow the teachings in them. I'm nowhere near perfect, but I try to be a little better every day. I pray daily, and try to live my life in a way that shows my devotion to God, my love for other people, and my belief in Christ. I don't currently have a whole lot of responsibilities or callings in my ward (my local congregation) but I do have a calling to visit several other sisters in the ward every month and share a spiritual message with them.
