Hi I'm Tayli

I'm a softball player. I am a member of the humanitarian group Days for Girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children in my family, with two younger sisters and two younger brothers. I am a future missionary and will be serving in the Illinois Chicago West mission Spanish speaking in the end of October. I am an environmentalist and have a huge love for this planet. I love to water ski, play softball, sew, and sip hot cocoa in all four seasons. I am a member of the humanitarian group, Days for Girls, and have sewed over 100 feminine hygiene kits that have been sent all around the world to girls in need. Fresh out of high school, I'm excited to see what life brings and ready for the adventures!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel, so I grew up attending church and weekly activities and going through all the motions of what we were supposed to do. It wasn't until my sophomore year of high school, though, that it hit me, "Why am I doing this?" I was lost and unsure if I even believed, I just obeyed my parents and did what I was told. I had been reading my scriptures and saying my prayers, but I didn't feel like I really was converted. I decided one afternoon while camping to pray and ask my Heavenly Father if this book I was studying and learning and had already read through was really true. A vivid sentence popped into my head, stating, "Do not doubt the truthfulness of this gospel." I knew then that everything that I had been doing was right. I felt at peace and have continued to do those things I have been asked to do ever since. This gospel has helped me get through times of trial and temptation as well as has blessed me with times of happiness and love. I know that this gospel is true. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers and will be there to listen and to comfort. I know that the Atonement is real and that I can be forgiven because I am imperfect. I know that we have a prophet on this earth today to receive revelation from God and to help guide us today. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith translated it and restored this gospel. I know families can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I am preparing to serve the people of Chicago and spread the gospel that I love. I am currently helping out with the young women in my neighborhood and church. I have helped them with goals and activities and also helped prepare a young woman's camp for them to attend. I am pretty sure that I have learned from them more than they have learned from me! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to help build these lovely girls' confidence!
