Hi I'm Claudine

i am happily married with 5 wonderful kids and 2 amazing grandchildren. My life centers around family and friends. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Taylorsville, Utah with my mother, father one brother and one sister. I am the baby of the family. I met my husband in high school but we didn't start dating until three years later when we both worked at the same company. I started college but quit when we had our first daughter. One day, I'd really like to go back and finish. My husband and I were not active in the church until our second child, a son, was born. The home teachers saw our names on a list and felt they needed to visit us. We were invited to go to temple preparation classes. The next summer we were sealed in the temple as a family. Over the next eight years, we had three more children and continued to grow in our faith. While not at church, my life centers around family and friends. I have a close-knit family. We do many activities together including motorcycle riding, camping, tennis, pickleball, and scuba diving. We love spending time together. I believe the more time you spend with your kids when they are young, the more time they will spend with us parents when they are older. My husband is an amazing man who supports our family and is a great example to his children. I also have a wonderful group of friends. Our main activity is board games. This gives us the chance to discuss our lives and have fun at the same time. We've laughed and cried together through the joys and struggles of being mothers. I also recently joined a tennis team and I absolutely love every minute of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored on the earth. I believe that Joseph Smith had a vision when he prayed to the Lord for guidance. I've also had prayers answered in my own life. I believe the priesthood has been restored and that if we live worthily, we can return to God after this life is over. I am a Mormon because I am a happier person by living the gospel. I've lived without the gospel in my life and I've lived with the gospel in my life, I have a greater understanding about why I am on the earth and what true happiness is. I am a Mormon because it creates deeper relationships in my life. I believe I can spend eternity with my family. That means we work through out problems instead of giving up. I try to improve all of my relationships every day. I am a Mormon because I want to become a better person. The church teaches us to not envy, not deceive others, to keep our minds and bodies clean, to respect all people regardless of race or other differences, and to do good continually. Imagine if every person in the world lived by these standards. I am a Mormon because I have felt the peace and joy that the spirit can bring into anyone's life. I have felt peace while overcoming many difficult trials. I have felt the spirit of God guiding me and comforting me when enduring those trials. I am a Mormom because I want to have a deeper connection with my Heavenly Father. I want to strengthen my testimony by studying and pondering gospel principles. I've seen how living the gospel has changed lives and I want that for myself, my friends, and my family. The gospel brings peace and comfort to anyone who sincerely seeks it.

How I live my faith

I've served in many callings in the church but my favorite place to be is with the young women. There is a special feeling with the youth of the church. Their testimonies strength mine and their enthusiasm for life is contagious. Some of my favorite memories are when we've been camping, serving others, bearing our testimonies, going to the temple, or just being silly. The young women in my ward are very accepting of everybody and welcome anyone that comes to church. They are a great example to me. I think I love being with the young women because my family didn't go to church when I was young. I'm getting to do all the things I missed when I was young. I read my scriptures (almost) every day. It's the first thing I do when I get up. I love to study in the mornings when nobody else is up and I don't get interrupted. I use study guides to help me understand the scriptures better. Our family spends Monday evenings reading scriptures, praying together, and having family time. We go to church every Sunday and our kids also go to a youth activity every Wednesday. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to be honest, trustworthy, chaste, loving, and to treat all people with respect. I hope that instill these values in my children by being a good example. Nobody is perfect so I don't expect perfection from my kids and they don't expect it from me. We try to be better today than we were yesterday. Everybody is on a personal path with Jesus.
