Hi I'm Emily Trawick

I'm from CA, Im a vegan, and im a missionary serving in the Kansas Wichita mission! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a missionary serving in the Kansas Wichita Mission! I come from a Apostolic/Pentecostal religious background and joined the church a couple years ago. I enjoy singing, playing the marimba, sculpting, and boxing! I LOVE people and learning about other cultures and religions. I plan to study Anthroposophy and teach Waldorf education.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church a couple years ago. I came from a Pentecostal church and family. I met the missionaries through my best friend and met with them on and off for about 2 years. I thought their message was very interesting and loved the "culture" of the church; family oriented, service, modesty, reverence, health, etc but wasn't interested in joining. My family was against me learning about the church so that also made it difficult to be involved. Every time I met with the missionaries it was like a puzzle, piece by piece everything started to fit together and make sense. Eventually I knew there was something they had that I was missing in my life and started to see things differently and question my beliefs and faith. I ended up leaving my church which was very difficult because it was disconnecting me from everything I knew, my family and friends. What I have come to love and recognize is that I never had to leave behind any good or truth I already had but I only had the opportunity to add to it. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that receiving that answer can only come through reading it, praying, pondering, and by asking God if it is true. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the center to all joy. I know that because of the Savior Jesus Christ we have an opportunity every single day to change and become better. My life has changed completely since following the Saviors example by being baptized. I have hope, peace and joy through all things especially through my trials. I can promise and testify as a representative of Jesus Christ that He lives, that He knows each one of us individually and that His church has been restored to the earth today. I invite you to take Moroni's challenge in the Book of Mormon and read it and pray and ask God if it is true with a sincere desire to know and a real intent to act on it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others, seeking truth and trying to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ's example.
