Hi I'm Nathan Stucki

I grew up in Nevada. I'm 18 years old, and have been called to serve a mission In Lima Perù. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old. and I have been a part of the LDS church since I was born. Some of my hobbies include piloting quadcopters, playing guitar and piano, longboarding, and playing basketball. I've been called to serve a mission in Lima Perù. When I return, I plan to get married, and attend a religious university, such as Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I have come to know for myself that the teachings of the LDS church are true. In my own life, I have applied principles and commandments, and I have seen the change that has been made in my life. I've learned what I know by teaching it to others. I also love this church because of how its standards help me to be a better person. I have read the Book of Mormon, and I have felt the love of our Heavenly Father by studying the teachings in it. I haven't always known that it was true, however. I had to search within myself to decide whether or not to continue living by the teachings of Christ. I did choose to follow Him, and I know that I have been blessed by doing so. I know that the words of the prophets are the words of God, as found in Doctrine and Covenants Section 1, verse 38- "whether by mine own voice, or the voice of my servants, it is the same." I know that this gospel is the restored truth, formerly taught by Jesus Christ Himself. I know that we can come closer to Him and the ones we love, by living the standards and teachings of the Book of Mormon, and by following Christ. And most of all, I know that I am a son of our Heavenly Father, and I know that He lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by faithfully preparing to serve a mission, and by doing all I can to attend church events such as Institute, Family Home Evening, and Sunday School. Institute is a class that I go to voluntarily, where I am taught about the doctrine in the scriptures. Family Home Evening activities take place every Monday night. These activities are for our benefit, and are fun events, including, but not limited to: playing soccer, swimming, and hiking. Sunday School is an hour long class each Sunday, where those in attendance are taught about the teachings of prophets and apostles.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Nathan Stucki
A testimony is one's witness of truth. Individuals need to decide for themselves whether or not they know/believe something to be true. A testimony comes when a person is told, through the Holy Ghost, that a principle is true. The main idea behind all testimonies, is that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father.
