Hi I'm Rachel Hansen

I grew up in Utah. I love music and being creative! I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I have gone to a year of college so far, working towards becoming an elementary school teacher. I love working with children from just about any age. I have worked with lots of children as a tutor, piano teacher, mentor, and teacher to children of different ages. I am extremely thrilled to become a teacher and help children become excited to learn! I am currently preparing to serve an LDS mission to Calgary, Canada. I am WAY stoked! I am especially excited because that is the same mission my dad and sister have served in. I also am a musician. I love singing and playing the piano and guitar. I would love to learn as many instruments as I can because music is something that is so incredible. I also love to bake. I have a major sweet tooth and it makes me happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family that has always been apart of the LDS Church. So because of that, I have grown in my understanding of what the beliefs are since I was a child. Growing up in the church I have seen the incredible blessings that have come from being a member. This church spreads a message of hope and peace that is available to everyone. I may have grown up knowing what I know, but it is because I have actively gone to church, read the scriptures, and prayed to my Heavenly Father that I know without a doubt that the LDS Church is true with all my heart. I know that my Father in Heaven knows me personally and loves me. I know that Jesus Christ, my Savior, atoned for my sins which makes it possible for me to return to live in Heaven with Christ and Heavenly Father. I know that families are eternal. We aren't separated at death to never see our family again. Because of the blessings that come from going to any LDS temple and through the sacrifices that Christ made, our families can and will live with each other forever. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was translated by Joseph Smith, who I believe was a true prophet and servant of God. There are so many blessings that will come from reading that book. I also believe that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet today. I know he speaks what God (Heavenly Father) would like us to know. I also know that no one on earth is perfect. So all of our church members are imperfect and make mistakes. So if you have ever been wronged or hurt by someone that is a member of the LDS Church I would hope you realize that we aren't perfect and that we will often screw up. The wonderful thing about the church is it is a place to come to be forgiven, to be loved, and to be accepted. I want you to know that I love this church with all my heart. I know that the message the church expresses is why I am leaving my home and family for 18 months to share it. I hope you've gathered that I am so happy to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am almost a full-time missionary so I don't hold a calling right now, but I will. In the past I have served as the Ward Music Director (so I helped coordinate the music in all of the meetings) and held callings in the presidencies of Laurel (16- up), Mia Maid (14-16), and Beehive (12-14) girl groups.
