Hi I'm Alyse Almond

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Alyse Almond. I’m 19 years old and a Early Childhood Education major at BYU with dreams of teaching Kindergarten, and having a big family. I love exercising, painting and wearing lipstick. If it comes in pink, I like it 10x more. I’m scared of garages, and I still don’t get the concept of personal space. I love baby humans and baby animals. And I seriously love to dance. I jump at every opportunity to drive in the car and listen to country music. Right now, I’m a little toooo obsessed with cooking and home innovation shows although I can’t cook worth a dime or keep my room from getting cluttered. My chicken tastes like rubber (haha). My favorite times are with my family enjoying the sunshine or playing basketball outside until dark. My best friends are my siblings, my college freshman roommate Lindsay and my sweet grandmother, Mimi Fletcher. I have found strength in my life from learning of my family history and my line of strong Southern women. I have accepted a call to serve in the New Mexico Albuquerque LDS mission, and I’m so grateful I get to share my faith and love for the Savior with people there. I want more than anything to have the companionship of the Holy Spirit and to feel close to my Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because love it! Although I have grown up in a family where the Gospel is preached and practiced, I personally know of the joy a close relationship with God brings. The Church brings purpose to my life and provides a way for me to be truly happy.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite aspects of the church is the opportunity I have to serve. Right now, I'm get to teach the CTR 5 Primary Class. I have learned so much from the sweet Spirit of those 5 year olds, even with all their wiggles. I know that the Lord teaches us to serve in different capacities. As I prepare to serve as a full-time missionary in New Mexico, I know I can become a better disciple of Jesus Christ in the way I love and serve through the Spirit.
