Hi I'm Lorraine

I grew up in Bend Oregon. Moved to Utah when I was 18 where I became active in the Church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. I love photography, genealogy, 4 wheeling, camping and anything I can do out of doors. I love the creations of our heavenly father. As a young mother I had 7 children in 10 years, 6 boys and 1 daughter. Two of our sons passed away at birth and this was extreamly hard for me. they were 1 year 1 month and 1 day apart from each other. Then in 2011 we had a granddaughter return to our Heavenly Father. This was harder to see my children go through the same thing I had gone through. Wishing I could take away the pain they were feeling. I had to tell myself they deserve the blessings of having a child returning to heaven as I did. I am a nurse, returned to school to continue my education after my children were in school. I am now retired and ready to go on a mission with the man of my life. Who has been with me and supported me in everything I do. I am very excited to share this next journey in our life. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was baptized when I was 8 1/2 years old the same day as my older brother. My father was not a Mormon, my mother is but in her adult years has not been active. My grandparents were very active in the Mormon church. When I came to Utah at the age of 18 I lived with my aunt and uncle who were good examples to me. I started to attend church with them and 44 years later I still attend my Sunday meetings. I love the blessings of being a member of the church. I love that my family can be forever and that we will be a family when we pass away. I love knowing that my children who passed away at birth and my grand daughter will be part of that heavenly family. I love knowing that if I need a priesthood blessing my husband can give me that blessing. These are a few reasons why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living in small towns around Utah it is always important to be a good example of who I am. To be around family and friends who share the values I like to live, makes it easy to be the kind of daughter of God I want to be. As a nurse and working with different cultures I had to step back and respect other religions and beleives. Knowing that having a priesthood blessing would be my choice. I love genealogy and helping others when I can. I thought I was German but after a DNA test I found out I am more Great Britain then East and West Europe. So I can continue to do my genealogy and take family names to the temple where we can be a family forever. Not coming from an active family and finding my ancestors has been a blessing in my life. I get so excited when I find a photo to go along with a person, or even a new person to add to my family. I even found I have a connection to the Utah pioneers and that was exciting to me.
