Hi I'm Emily Benites

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love my FAMILY. Called to serve in the Arkansas, Bentonville Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to Tracy and Joe Benites. I am the youngest of three children. I recently graduated Desert Oasis High School as the Student Body President. I have THREE nephews and ONE niece who are my world. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, fishing, riding ATVs, binge watching Netflix and reading my scriptures. The church has brought light into my life when I was in darkness. I am thankful for our loving brother, Jesus Christ, who died for all of us and bore the pains we have daily. No one better understands our pains and sorrows more than him. With that said, I am so excited to go out and serve Him as a Missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Arkansas, Bentonville Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was converts to the church, but luckily for me I was a super young. When you’re a kid, you go in the motions of church and rely upon your parent’s testimony until the little seed you planted grew. I relied upon my parent’s testimony until I was a teenager. When I was a teen, I fell away from the church and only went when my parents made me. I went into a period of my life where I knew that what I was doing was not what Heavenly Father wanted for me. I had a change of heart and began a new way of life. I engulfed myself into His gospel because I know that without a doubt in my mind that THIS church is the only church that brings happiness into our lives. As months went on, I fell in love with the gospel again and I began to have the feeling of belonging. I had a great friend who left on a mission and was a great example to me of how the gospel changes our lives. Because of this missionary’s great example, I am who I am today. I am a devoted member of a church. I stand up for what I believe even when I have to stand alone. I love this church and all the members. This church is the reason why we can have joy and happiness in our lives. Heavenly Father has a plan for each one of us. Sometimes we can’t see or understand why things are happening in our lives, but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. It’s our responsibility in life to bring the gospel into as many peoples life as we can. I believe that you should strive every day of your life to be a “sent” not a “went” in His eyes.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I serve the lord and live my faith by being an example to the youth! I recently changed from Young Womens to Relief Society. In young women's, I earned my medallion and honor bee. Now, I attend church every Sunday and teach a lesson or two when time permits.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Emily Benites
All members are not "REQUIRED" to serve a mission by any means. Willing and eligable members of the church who are of missionary age should consider it highly. A mission will prepare those who serve for life and will allow them to build a better relationship with Heavenly Father as they rely on him for the period of their mission. Show more Show less
