Hi I'm Alec Anthony Gordon

I am serving a full time mission for the Church in the Anaheim California American Sign Language Mission Sept. 2015.

About Me

I am serving a full time mission for the Church. I was called to serve in the California Anaheim American Sign Language mission, Sept. 2015-2017. I am excited to share the gospel! I am the 2nd oldest of seven children. My favorite thing to do is play basketball. In fact, I hope to coach basketball in the future. I plan to attend college after my mission. I love hanging out with my friends and enjoy spending time with my family. I love to talk and i like to sign

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I lived with my mom and my step-dad. Our family is Mormon. My father attended a non-denominational church, so I had to attend his church a few times a month as well. Being able to hear and see what was taught in each church, and the feelings at both, helped me to know which church I wanted to belong to.

How I live my faith

I'm dedicating the next 2 years to serving the Lord. I will be serving and sharing the gospel with those I meet.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Alec Anthony Gordon
We believe that baptism should be done by immersion (completely under the water), just as the Savior was baptized, and by someone with the proper authority- the Aaronic Priesthood. Being "dunked" completely under the water represents being "reborn" spiritually. When you are baptized it's like a completely new slate. All sins are forgiven and forgotten. We believe babies do not need baptized, but those who are old enough to know right and wrong should be. We teach that this is at age 8. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Alec Anthony Gordon
Our Savior, Jesus Christ, taught us to go and teach to everyone. If we don't share the gospel there are so many people throughout the world who will never know Jesus Christ in this life. I am so thankful to serve a mission. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Alec Anthony Gordon
We love and respect Joseph Smith because he was a Latter-Day prophet who the Lord used to restored the gospel to the earth. However, we do not worship him. We worship Heavenly Father and the our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
