Hi I'm Ian Thunhorst

I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. I love to run cross country, play hockey and lacrosse. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have recently graduated from high school. I was accepted into BYU and Ohio State and have commited to attending BYU. I run cross country. I was the two-time champion in my conference and qualified for regionals. I currently hold the record at my school for fastest time in a 5K. I also play hockey. I started playing hockey when I was three years old. I've loved it most ever since. I grew up eventually making the Jr. National team here in Cincinnati where we competed in tournaments all over the USA and Canada. I also play lacrosse. It's basically like hockey just not on ice. I was the team captain for two years and also was selected to be on the First-Team All State. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family playing games or being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Every one goes through ups and downs in life. Every ones life is different. But in the end, we are all hoping for that something greater. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings that light of hope, faith and charity into my life. I don't just believe anymore, I know that I can spend eternity with my family, that one day I will enter into the Kingdom of God and be back in His presence. That I will receive all that He has if, and only if, I obey all of His commandments while I'm on this Earth. He brings me peace and comfort, I can feel His love even in the hardest of times. I know the Bible and the Book Of Mormon to be true. Cover to cover they are the most correct books holding truth and answers to all manner of questions. How grateful I am to have a living prophet today, that he receives revelation from our loving Heavenly Father to help guide us down the strait and narrow path. No other church have I come across that is so well organized, all so loving and caring, all working to help each other achieve the same goal of eternal life. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in the California Bakersfield Mission, Spanish speaking. I am the first in my family to serve a mission, but I chose to do so because I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father for all that they have blessed me with. I wanted to take that joy and love my family and I have and bless other families with that same feeling of peace and comfort.
