Hi I'm Annie

I'm currently serving a Spanish speaking mission in Toronto Canada!

About Me

I love to write, sing, eat, perform, and spend time with people I love. Just before I left for my mission I was a sophomore in college and I'm hoping to one day become a journalist. I'm a bit of a nerd and I absolutely love learning! I'm an only child and I love my family. I love all animals, especially my cats and dog. The coolest thing I did before my mission was swim with sharks in Hawaii. Now I preach the gospel full-time in the best language on earth, Español!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has changed my life and I love it because I know that is the one thing that I will always have with me. My faith brings me strength, hope, and joy that I couldn't find anywhere else. The relationship I have with my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ brings me peace and allows me to feel Their love for me. It gives me worth and joy to know that They are always with me and They have always and will always love me. The Church is a perfect organization, and while it is run by humans and mistakes are inevitably made, I know that it is lead by a merciful and forgiving Savior. I know that He loves each and every one of His children with a love that cannot be comprehended or described. I choose to be a Mormon because I know the joy that comes from following God's commandments. I know the protection His guidance gives me. I love this church and I love continuing to strive each day with those around me to become more like my Savior. In our church we believe that by following the Lord's commandments and through sacred ordinances, we can be with our families forever. I love the knowledge that I will see those that I love once again after this life, and that one day we will all be reunited with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving wherever I go. I try as much as I can to emulate the Savior by showing love and kindness towards all His children, being an example, and extending a helping hand to those in need. I'm currently serving the Lord and the people around me as a missionary in Toronto Canada.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Annie
It is very true! God loves all His children equally, so it makes perfect sense that Christ would appear to all of them after His resurrection. We learn about Christ's visit to the Americas in detail in the Book of Mormon, specifically in 3 Nephi. In His visit to the Americas He did things very similar to what He did in the New Testament. He healed the sick, taught the gospel, blessed the children, and called disciples to help organize His church. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Annie
Mormons are most definitely not required to serve missions. It is a choice that each member must consider carefully to decide if it is right for them and if they have the desire to go and serve. Then they save their money and receive a call to go serve full-time from around 18 months to 2 years. It is seen as an honor and privilege to be given the opportunity to devote our all of our time during this period to sharing the gospel and showing love for the people we serve with. The Savior taught us to "teach all nations" in Matthew 28:19, and serving a mission is a great way to fulfill those words. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Annie
The missionaries will share with you the joyful message of our church! They will talk about The Atonement of Jesus Christ and tell you about Heavenly Father's plan of happiness, which allows us all the opportunity to return to live with Him after we leave this life. The missionaries will teach you about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the center of our message. Show more Show less
