Hi I'm Gabrielle Blackburn

I'm a BYU Cougar and an outdoors enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Called to one of the original 13 colonies, Georgia Atlanta North! I love to be busy, and I hate saying "No." Currently I am a BYU student studying Public Health in hopes of going to PA school. I love being outside and enjoying the many different, beautiful, aspects of this world we live in. If I am not sleeping, you can find me running, road biking, or swimming laps. One reason I love these activities (other than the fact they are outside) is because I LOVE to eat! Cooking, baking, and trying new recipes are what I live for! I guess you could say, I bite off more than I can chew. I was born with an autoimmune disease that sporadically causes hair loss! Because of this disease I have close to no hair! Although it has been very trying during the last few years of my life, I am grateful for the many lessons and principles I have learned from it. It has caused me to rely on the Lord and his atonement in so many ways! It has helped me relate with people going through difficult, physical challenges, as well as given me the strength to be myself. One lessons I have taken away from this disease is the ability to look at the bight side of things-I can't have a bad hair day if I don't have hair! ;) The Church is true! I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church to be true. I am a Mormon because I want nothing more than to be with my current, and future families forever. I am a Mormon because I have seen the Lord's hand in my life. I am a Mormon because I know that Thomas S Monson and his counselors are called of God. I am a Mormon because I need the atonement of the Savior every day. I am a Mormon because it makes me try to live in such a way as to be a better person. I am a Mormon because I have received simple and sweet confirmations from the Holy Ghost, that this indeed is the true church.

How I live my faith

Throughout my recent years in a Young Single Adult ward, I have served as a visiting teacher and a relief society teacher. As a visiting teacher, I am assigned two girls whom I personally visit every month. After delivering a spiritual message, its usually just girl talk! My calling is to assist them in any way I can-physical, spiritual, and emotional. Its a great way to make friends, serve, and be a helping hand in the church. Relief Society is a program for all women 18+. For an hour every Sabbath, we meet and have a lesson. My job, as the teacher, is the pray for and plan a lesson that will invite the spirit and touch the hearts of the sisters in the class. I love this calling, I never want to be released from it! I am planning to serve the church as a full time missionary!
