Hi I'm Diantha

I'm a small town girl who loves learning and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 8 children, and until I went to college I lived in one house my whole life. I have always had a drive to do well in everything I do (if for no other reason than to show my siblings up). I just completed a year and a half of college. I love learning everything I possibly can because there are so many amazing things in this world. I love reading, and I love spending time with my family, especially my nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I still had to know that the Church was true for myself. Shortly before I entered high school, I decided that I had to know for myself, so I began reading the Book of Mormon and thinking about it a lot. I didn't have any huge spiritual experiences, but as I read and as I applied the teachings I was reading, I felt very calm and peaceful. I was also in a lesson about the First Vision, a vision of God and Jesus Christ that Joseph Smith had when he was 14, and I felt the Spirit so strongly that I knew that the First Vision really happened. I can't explain exactly how the Spirit felt, but it was a peaceful and very firm confirmation that what I was being taught was true. As I keep the commandments of God that I learn through the Church I feel happiness and I feel closer to Jesus Christ. I know that as I follow the teachings of the Church I come closer to Christ, and I become more like him.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures daily and say my prayers at least twice a day. This keeps me feeling close to my Heavenly Father, and it gives me the opportunity to learn more about my religion every day. I was in a position where I planned activities of the youth in our church. I loved planning these activities, because not only were they an opportunity for the youth to have fun together, but we tried to design the activities so they strengthened the youth in their faith. I am also preparing to serve a full time mission for my church across the country.
