Hi I'm Mikayla

I have lived in Utah my whole life. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lover of the outdoors. I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, rafting, setting up my hammock in random places and doing it all with the people that I love. I attended a year of school at Utah State University last fall and am now about to leave on my mission to Ecuador.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ brings me more happiness than anything on this earth ever could. I have been a member my whole life. But it wasn't until my first year of college that I felt like I had been personally, truly converted to this church. I had been living the standards of the church all throughout my life. I came from a good home, a good family, and good parents that taught me well. But I learned for myself what it meant to be a member of the church when I was living on my own and making my own decisions. I've learned that you must go through darkness in order to find the light. I went through a very tough time my first year in college. I wasn't hanging out with the right people and I made some mistakes. But because of the everlasting and wonderful Atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ, I was able to see the light again, and to come back in to the church in full swing. I was able to make a repentance of my sins and to get my life on track again. The things of the world don't make you happy. You may think they do, but they don't. The gospel and living in it's principles and following the commandments are what make you truly happy. I know that this gospel is on the earth right now for a reason. I know that it is what will bring us all true happiness if we choose to live it. I am so grateful for the atoning sacrifice of our Savior. He suffered for all of our sins so that we may repent and return to live with our Father in Heaven again someday. I know that Joseph Smith restored this gospel here on the earth, and that the Book Of Mormon is a true book and that it is the word of God. I love this gospel, every part of it. It makes me happy, and it makes it so that I will be able to live with my family in heaven and with my Heavenly Father again. I want the people that I meet in Ecuador to feel this happiness that only this gospel can bring and I can't wait to share it with them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my family and their participation in our ward. My parents are both very service-oriented and have been a good example of service my whole life. I've never had a specific calling in my ward but I try to make an effort to serve the people around me with a smile and good conversation. Everyone deserves to feel like they are loved and that is what I feel I am called to do in my ward and with all the people around me.
