Hi I'm Nate Miles

I played football, basketball, and ran track. I will serve a mission in Sydney, Australia. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I graduated as the salutatorian of my class and was accepted to BYU. I played football and basketball for my whole life and all through high school. My senior year I was named the Section Player of the Year for football and won a state championship. Football is one of my passions. I love the effort and intensity it takes to win and to be successful as well as the mental part of the game that requires almost chess-like strategy. The summer after I graduated I coached the freshman team and helped with varsity. Some of my other favorite activities are golfing with my friends and going to the lake. I love wake boarding and wake surfing. There are not many things more fun than chilling with friends on a boat in the sun, jamming to music, eating snacks, and enjoying the warm water.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents are both members. This put me automatically in the church, but I stay in the church because of the blessings I receive from my Heavenly Father. The church has made me a better person and has blessed my life in so many ways. The church has taught me the importance of family, service, work ethic, healthy living, and being kind to others. I love the person I am because of the way I have grown up and the principles that this church has given me. I know that Jesus Christ lives and is my savior. I know that through His atonement I can be redeemed from sin. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and has a plan for me. I know that I can be with Heavenly Father again in heaven with my family by way of priesthood authority and the special ordinances performed only the God's holy temples. I know these things to be true and I want to share them with others so they can have the happiness, security, and peace that I feel in this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I report to the Sydney, Australia mission Sept. 9, 2015. Before serving a mission, I was in the youth leadership of 16-18 group. As a youth priesthood holder I would go to the sick and elderly's houses after meetings to administer the sacrament to them since they could not physically make it to meetings. It was always amazing to see them smile when they saw me. It warmed my heart to know that visiting these homebound people made a difference in their lives. Recently in the last few weeks before leaving for my mission I have had a chance to work with investigators of our church and to share some of our basic beliefs with them and to introduce them to our church.

What is being a Mormon like?

Nate Miles
Being a mormon is just like being a normal person. We play sports, go to school, read books, dance, sing, work, play video games, eat normal food and do pretty much anything that anybody can do. But we believe in Jesus Christ and in a Heavenly Father and that they have a plan for us to become like them. To become like them we must strive to become good person who loves others and serve each other. We must follow laws that Heavenly Father has for our spiritual safety. When we follow these laws like the word of wisdom which deals with being healthy and not doing drugs or alcohol etc. we show God we love him and are willing to obey him, and by doing these things we can return to live with Him again in heaven.
