Hi I'm Landon Barberich

I grew up in Fresno California. Born and raised in the church and very grateful that I was.

About Me

In high school I played a lot of sports I played football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. Being a member of the Mormon church has blessed me in so many ways. It has helped me make smart decisions in my life that have made me the person I am today. The teachings of the gospel have protected me in ways that I am extremely grateful for. I am always filled with joy every time I go to church, read the scriptures, and pray to our Heavenly Father. When I feel that joy, there is always peace that comes to my mind, if I'm going through a tough time, I always pray to my Heavenly Father so I can feel his love and comfort.

How I live my faith

When I was a Senior in high school, I had the opportunity to be a youth leader at a youth camp that we have every year called EFY (Especially For Youth). I got to teach younger high school student, that go to church with me, how to serve our Heavenly Father with all our heart, might, mind, and strength. As a youth I really learned how to serve Heavenly Father, and because I had the desire to learn, I was able to be taught, I acted upon it, and I was able to share what I learned with those youth. When I was in high school, it was a real challenge to stand up for what I believed in because I was the only member of the church. I went to seminary every morning with all the kids I went to church with, but I went to a different school. They went to the high school that was right across the street from the church, and I went to a school that was on the other side of the city because that's where my dad worked and where he went to school so I wanted to be just like him. School was a challenge because I was the quarterback and captain of the football team, and I didn't do the same side activities they did after school, practice or on the weekends, and they thought that I was crazy. Once they realized that I had high standards and that I had strong beliefs in the church, they either started to respect my decisions, or they followed my example and started to make the same choices as me.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Landon Barberich
Mormons believe that family relationships can last forever, not just for this life, but for all eternity. Life’s sweetest joys can come through family associations, but the loss of a beloved family member can be a source of our deepest sorrows. Death does not need to be the end of our relationships with cherished loved ones. Family members who accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ and follow His example can be together forever through sacred ordinances performed in God’s holy temples. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Landon Barberich
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It contains the writings of the prophet's records and teachings. It was named after the prophet Mormon, who was one of the last prophets recorded in this book. All of these prophets knew about Heavenly Father's plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His church among them. The Book of Mormon contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. Show more Show less
