Hi I'm Jack

I'm from Arkansas. I've grown up as one of the only members of my church in my town. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent graduate of my local high school. Consistently through my high school years I'd see, other than my family, about one other member a day, and, most of the time, not even that. I have learned from experience that The Church is one of my only defenses from the advisory. My friends as well as my friend's parents have come to know me as a level headed guy and any time that they feel they need help or advise they have generally come to me for help.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a strong sense that it is the right thing for me and for all of mankind. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because it was testified to me from the Spirit. I remember feeling that when I was 12 years old. I was having one of the worst weeks of my life, I had elected to join the Boy Scouts of America and had attended Scout Camp. At Scout Camp I had received a sunburn from, well, being an idiot, and not wearing sun screen during the swimming times. It was so bad that I had blisters the size of a half dollar on my back. It was very painful and I was tempted, the several times my scout master (me being his only scout) asked me if I wanted to go home, to go home. But the last night, as I was listening to a guest speaker, I decided to pray to Heavenly Father and ask if the Book of Mormon was true, and I remember that as I started to pray I felt nothing. However as the prayer continued I started to think of all the stories and characters of the Book of Mormon, and I listed them, and before I could get through half of the stories I knew (about 10) I was crying with joy. Heavenly Father had allowed the Spirit to pour into me. And I KNEW with assurity that this was God's church on Earth. I KNEW that Joseph Smith had to be a prophet. And most importantly, I KNEW that the Book of Mormon was true doctrine of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the way I conduct myself with those around me. I feel as though there is no better way than to lead by example and try my best to show others the way by the way I live. When my friends are doing things I might not agree with it comforts me that they still think of me and try to find help when they do something that could get them into danger.
