Hi I'm Siesia

Im from West Valley City, Utah, and im serving my mission in Quito Ecuador!

About Me

I love to learn about different cultures and beliefs. There are so much things we can learn about the world and those around us if we just take the time to listen! Currently serving in the Quito Ecuador mission!

Why I am a Mormon

Im a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints because I know that is only through this church that I can be with my family forever. I know that this church is the same church that Christ established when he was here on earth, and now we have the same organization, with a modern day prophet, 12 apostles and the authority from God to do sacred works here on earth. There is no other place one can find true peace and joy than in the church. The knowledge I have gained from being a member of this church has brought so much happiness and peace to my family and can do the same for yours if you just listen.

How I live my faith

Currently a full-time missionary in Ecuador. I spend my days teaching others about the gospel and bringing them closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

What is the First Vision?

During the start of many different churches, a young 14 year old boy by the name of Joseph Smith had a desire in his heart to discover which of all the churches were teaching the truth. He attended many different churches and it seemed they all had their own idea of performing sacred ordinances, such as baptisms. With all the confusion surrounding this young boy he took to the scriptures and read a passage in James 1:5 which states " If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him". Or in other words, if any of us are a seeking an answer, our first source should be to trun to our Heavenly Father, and he will answer us. Knowing this, the young Joseph went into a grove of trees and prayed to God and asked which of all the churches he should join. With this simple prayer, his prayer was answered and he states that God our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ appeared to him and told him not to join any of the churches that existed during this time because after the death of Christ and his apostles, the church which Jesus had organized was lost for centuries, but through Joseph Smith, Christ would restore his again to the earth. This event marked the beginning of the restoration of Jesus Christ church. Show more Show less
